MDPHP is a close relative of the better-known stimulant MDPV, which was originally developed by an English pharmaceutical company in the 1960s.

MDPHP, also known as (3′,4′-methylenedioxy-α-pyrrolidinohexiophenone) or “monkey dust,” acts as a norepinephrine dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI) and resembles a very fine crystalline powder in the hydrochloride (HCL) state.
